Future Dusk, a deep blue-violet shade 129-35-18, is predicted by trend forecasters to be the color of the year 2025.


The color is "escapism, and feeds into themes of  transition whether it be moving from dark to light, or dusk to dawn making it perfect for a period of immense change," according to WGSN in a statement. The sister brand Coloro revealed that it believes Future Dusk's surreal shade will represent the world's impending interplay of fiction, virtual reality, and reality in 2025.

After the brand famously announced that Apricot Crush would be the color of the year in 2024 and Digital Lavender would be the color of the year in 2023, Future Dusk looks to be a welcome sequel. The mysterious, moody purplish tone of Future Dusk makes us think of a digital artist's portrayal, maybe of a deep night sky or something that is almost like nature but not quite.


This 2025 Color of the Year prediction calls to mind a future where the uncanny valley is frequently and easily accessible. It is influenced by society's growing fascination with AI, the metaverse, and ongoing space research. Within the framework of society, technology, environment, politics, industry, and creativity developed by Coloro and WGSN, Future Dusk represents impending changes in each of those areas.
